Jan (EF) hat erfolgreich Kontakt zu einer irischen Schule in Cork aufgenommen, um einen privaten Kurzaustausch zu organisieren. Hier berichten sein Gastschüler Olan und er von ihren Erfahrungen:
My stay here in Germany was quite satisfactory. I learned a small bit of German and learned a lot about the culture of the German people and the German education system. I made lots of friends and had new experiences. The teachers in St. Antonius-Gymnasium were very welcoming and took care of me throughout my two weeks. Jan was an excellent host brother and gave me an insight into what it feels like to be a true German. The one issue I had with this exchange is it was not long enough and I sincerely hope to visit this school again in the near future.
My exchange with my host brother Olan was one to remember. When I came over to Ireland both my host family and the teachers welcomed me with open arms. I got a great insight into Irish daily life and experienced the differences between the two education systems. Attending an only boy school is so different compared to my German mixed school!
Even when I only saw the great, green and gorgeous scenery out of the plane, I was so amazed. These lovely fields and the rough cliffs at the coast look so beautiful and made my stay so memorable.
I also got to know the Irish humour and their charming and gentle behaviour.
All in all, I highly recommend exchanging if possible because I now know that it is such a unique chance to get to know a new culture and to improve your own language skills. I really enjoyed my stay and I am looking forward to going back to Ireland as soon as possible.
